A model politician - one who serves the people

Human life should be like dewdrops that continuously fall and nourish plants that support them. After death, our contributions should live on like glaciers which have been in existence since the ice age millions of years ago. Water from these ancient glaciers continues to supply the major rivers of the world to this day. Even a dry river bed holds water if we dig a few feet. Nature helps us every moment. It sustains our lives. But humankind lives in enmity with Nature, trying to destroy Her in many ways. By studying Nature we can learn a lot, and there are innumerable contributions yet to be made which will help future generations.
Politicians should lead exemplary lives and be like fresh dew drops. The lives of politicians before getting elected are dry as the hot and uncomfortable months of April and May. They come door to door with folded hands promising a lot. Once elected, they forget how their lives were prior to the elections. They quickly become comfortable in their post and forget the people who elected them. Not just this, like heavy and forceful rains that destroy crops and other property, they trouble people who elected them in the first place.
Just as the ocean collects water from many sources, they collect people’s money and keep it for themselves. They cannot enjoy this money and it will ultimately evaporate just as the seawater evaporates into the air. Instead of looting money and keeping it for themselves, they should be like a light and pleasant drizzle which helps plants grow, cools and freshens the air. People they serve are like plants. Politicians should use the power they are given to help people grow and realize their dreams. Only then will their name survive and their lives will be celebrated long after their departure from their post. If they misuse their power, it is like a sick man lying in bed and coughing up phlegm, drops of which fall on him. Their lives will end like that.
One tiny dewdrop can nourish a plant. The morning dew freshens the air. A few drops of dew is more valuable than large amounts of wastewater that flows in drains. The smell of fresh morning dew cannot be compared to dirty drain water. This is the difference between honest politicians who work day and night to serve the people who elected them and the corrupt inefficient ones who live for themselves. My sincere request to the political class is not to sacrifice the welfare of the common folk for the sake of selfishness and greed.
My blessings to all
